Walking Under the Heat of the Sun Challenge

In name of adventure search, a person may do whatever it takes.
The reward will be the so called "Fulfillment". And challenging oneself and be fulfilled it is I might say your accomplishment.

Last Saturday, April 6, 2013, me and the two young ladies who I convince that it will be fun going to a place you didn't know ;)

We are on a mission that day, someone gave us two name of places in Cavite, Malaking Tatyao Silang and Malabag Silang.

The only thing that we knew about these places is that it is located in Silang Cavite.
And Silang is not that small and most of the places are surrounded by farms and plantation, coffee, pineapple and many others.

It sounds fun and exciting to be there. Feeling the quiet side of Cavite. Roaming around, seeing greens. I know it'll be fun and... tiring.

Before 6:00am, we ride jeepney from Gen. Mariano Alvarez going to Paliparan DasmariƱas.
I love how the sun shine this morning:

For me, well based on my experience, asking for anybody at the street is wasting of time. For the reason that there are times that you'll going to ask someone who doesn't know the place either and there are some who will snob you. There are times that you'll going to ask someone who will give you direction. Better if they admit that they don't know the place, right?

I usually ask traffic enforcers or police men or security guards. If they are not available, the street vendors can be also asked.

And the easiest way to know where's our assignments are is to get to the Municipal Hall and asked.

This young lady requested me to take a photo of her posing in front of the municipal hall

We asked the policemen at the municipal hall and they are so kind to give us right direction and what are the means of transporation.
Going to Malaking Tatyao, we have to ride a tricycle in front of the municipal hall. We asked the driver to take us to the Barangay Hall.

And here's kuya:

We saw this sign and the driver made a right turn:

Very province look...

The road is narrow. And I think tricycles and motorcycles are the best means of transporation here.

He drop us off in front of a store. I asked him "Kuya, nasa'n po 'yung Barangay Hall?" (Kuya, where's the Barangay Hall?). He answered, "Malawak na lugar kasi 'tong Malaking Tatyao, magtanong na lang kayo kung saan" (Malaking Tatyao is a wide area, just asked where it is). Seriously?

I told him that we didn't know the place, it's the first time that we ever stepped there.

A kind owner of a Sari-Sari store butt in and said, "Ay sa Purok 1 pa 'yung Barangay Hall dito. Dun kayo pumasok sa Purok 2, tapos diretsuhin n'yo, makikita n'yo 'yun sa kaliwa" (Barangay Hall is in Zone 1. Enter on Zone 2, straight ahead you will find it at the left side).

There is a connotation that storekeepers or tindera in Tagalog are gossipers. There are disadvantages of being like that but there are times that they helped. They are so updated to the latest gossips in town. And I'm glad that she helped us by butting in and giving direction not gossip ;)

We found the Barangay Hall and the two young ladies requested for picture taking in front of it.

They even requested to take pictures with the background that is laidback-like.

It's not obvious that they are having a great time posing, right? ;)

 OK, time to walk girls.

The blazing sun didn't stop us to enjoy the greens that we are seeing.

We saw cows from a distance.

And thanks God for the temporary shed from clouds ;)

We have to move and discover Malabag, Silang, Cavite.

We have to ride a tricycle again going to Silang Bayan and then ride a jeepney going to Tagaytay.

Upon arriving the Silang Bayan, we decided to eat first before going to Malabag. It's already 12:00nn at that time. We decided to eat at the fast food chain near the municipal hall.

Around 1:00pm we ride a jeepney going to Tagaytay. We asked the driver to drop us off to Malabag. He said we have to ride a tricycle if we wanted to go to Malabag.

When he drop us off we then know why he said we have to ride a tricycle.

Tsk! Tsk! Political candidates. I hope they know where to post their posters

Barangay Malabag is far from the hi-way.
We walked for about 15 to 20mins before we arrived here.

We didn't saw the Barangay Hall and it made us sad.

Look at their exhausted looks. Pity you.

We walked under the angry heat of the sun.

I saw a residential house and the plants made me smile:

They have garden on their wall ;)

Because of the super hot climate, we decided to go back at the Silang Bayan.
And...sorry girl, I took photos of you
And there she is, goofing at her friend's back

I know she's very tired, because we feel the same way, too.
But looking back at our accomplishment, for me it's kind of rewarding.
We visited places that we didn't even know is existing and we come home safe and sound.

Back at Silang Bayan, we decided to eat Halo-Halo. We wanted to ease the discomfort brought by the hot climate.

Halo-Halo is very famous in the Philippines during Summer season.

You could find Halo-Halo stand in every corner during these days.
It composes of so many ingredients like, sweetend banana, nata de coco, different kinds of sweetend beans, ube, jelly, sago (tapioca ball), sometimes leche flan or ice cream if it's special, milk, sugar and any sweetened or not sweetened fruits that you could think of.
It's very flexible when it comes to ingredients. The most important ingredient is the crushed ice and  milk.

After easing the heat, we decided to take a little walk.

We found this beautiful house.  And there she is requesting to take a picture of her like she's the owner of the house.

One more ride and we're at SM City Mall in DasmariƱas.

Here are the things that I've learned:

1. If you really wanted to go to a place you didn't visited before, you will find a way
2. Bring extra money, in case you wanted to rehydrate or for the fare in case you follow direction
3. You can have a good time even under the heat of the sun
4. It's OK to try new things
5. Good communication will help in finding your destination
6. Have a good judgement on following directions
7. Bringing crazy kids like them will help ;)
